CHANGE.....Yes it is a time of change in lots of things. Personally with us, Don's mother is soon to make a change from the nursing/rehab center she has been in for 3 months to home again! That is a wonderful change! And that will begin another phase of our lives,(Don & I). CHANGE IS GOOD!
A pond or body of water must have a stream flowing in and a way for the water to flow out. Otherwise, the pond will become stagnant...unable to sustain life! Recently we discovered we may have this problem with our "Big Pond" down by the river on our property here in Union, SC. Something will have to be done, CHANGE, to unstop the "flow" that is coming in and out of that body of water!
We will do whatever it takes to "revive" this beautiful place that God has given us....right now we don't know the exact problem...but we KNOW there is a problem at both ends and something Must be done and SOON if that body of water, "Our Pond" is to have a "normal flow" again!!! There are a lot of "fish" in that pond and have been for many, many, years. They will die if the pond does not begin to "Flow Properly" again. FISH reminds me of what we are told/called in the Bible...FISHERS OF MEN! COULD GOD BE SHOWING ME A PARALLEL BETWEEN THAT POND AND THE "FISH" IN IT AND THE "CHURCH-BODY OF CHRIST" at large???? Are we becoming "stagnant" or "have" we already become stagnant because of a "blockage" that we were not aware of until now? That "FLOW" of the Spirit of the Living God from Deep Within Us that is to Flow Out to others around us to help them....save them from "death?" (John3:16)
Are you a Flowing Life Giving Stream...(out of the innermost beings of your heart shall flow rivers of living water)...A VIBRANT STREAM..A BEAUTIFUL POND WHERE FISH LIVE AND GROW? (and are caught!) We must check ourselves out as Believers in Jesus Christ NOW...Are we Living and Walking and Moving and Breathing in HIM? (Jesus}...HIS WORD...THE BIBLE? ARE WE GIVERS OF LIFE TO THOSE WE COME IN CONTACT WITH AT CHURCH, THE STORE, ANYWHERE WE GO??? Are we "LIFE GIVERS" TO OTHERS WHO DON'T KNOW JESUS? IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE WAY WE LIVE AND OTHERS...ARE WE LOOKED UPON AS SOMEONE THAT A LOST PERSON WOULD LIKE TO BE LIKE? (Do they see something in us they desire and want?) DO THEY SEE JESUS IN US...ARE WE LETTING OUR LIGHT SHINE SO THAT OTHERS MAY SEE THE GLORY OF GOD AND BE SAVED?
As I come to the end of this blog, I leave you with that question, whever you are...Union,SC and all over the world. OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD AND HE CAN DO THE IMPOSSIBLE...JUST WAIT AND SEE...YOU WILL SEE IT AND SOON!
GOODBYE FOR NOW!

HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD !
WOW! Its been awhile since I wrote anything on this blog. Lots of things going on during this new fall season...festivals in Buffalo across from the mill pond.....tractor shows at the stadium....the Union County Fair next week,
countywide church revivals and youth revivals...lots and lots of things going on. And the weather got really nice last week here in Union, however this weekend it began to heat up again and today they say we may break record heat levels. But fall is here, and I heard its going to cool off towards the end of the week and I am glad. The Sr. Citizens of Buffalo Baptist Church went to Lake Lure, NC for a picnic last week (10-5-10) and we had a great time. Buffalo Baptist is thriving under the new leadership of Rev. Michael Wingertsahn. Sunday school attendance has gone up and I am just waiting to see how God is going to move next in our community! There are so many right outside our doors at Buffalo Baptist Church that don't know the Lord or need to be "revived" ! The church was built back in the Early 1900's by the Mill Company that came to town and everything revolved around the mill and church etc. People moved here from the mountains to take jobs in the new mills and it became a time of growth for Union County.
Now that the mills have closed...(1995-Buffalo)...and been torn down, its sad to look at the two towers still standing at the Buffalo Mill...the only reminder of those many years people spent there working and making a good living for their families. Memories...thats all we have...or maybe not...maybe thats a "good" thing.
Time for some NEW MEMORIES the "GOD KIND" !
...I still believe that God wants to "Show Himself Strong" on behalf of the people of Union County, Buffalo included, and recently I posted on facebook a scripture from Ephesians...chapter 5 verse 14....WE NEED TO BE AWAKENED...TO RISE UP...AND DO THE WORKS OF THE LORD! Again today, I was in Ephesians 5 verses 15-17. I used that as my status for facebook today and felt it was really speaking of NOW!
As I read through my e-mail today I came across a few things I shared on my facebook page and also wanted to share on this blog.
Did you know that on October 31, 1517 Martin Luther tacked his 95 theses to the Wittenburg Door in Germany....Igniting Reformation in that nation, region, and around the world! Let us as a nation "cry out" on October 31, 2010 for an Awakening and Reformation in our own day and hour and country, cities, towns of America. There will be a "live web cast" on Oct.31 from Christ for the Nations in Texas from 7-10pm CDT hosted by Cindy Jacobs Prayer Ministry. The website is http://www.generals.org/. Take a look at it if you get a chance...!!!
I was viewing another video today that had been sent to me and it was a discussion about dreams with Jim Goll. He has a book out called DREAM LANGUAGE and I found his comments very interesting in light of the fact the Bible tells us that in the last days "young men will dream dreams etc."....Something he said really went along with what I have already written about Ephesians....He was making reference to God giving us a "wake-up call" in this hour...sending out an SOS to people...."WHOSOEVER CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED! SOS! SOS! SOS! SOS! "SAVE OUR SOULS" So Many Need Jesus !!!
And I believe HE IS REAL ! OH>>>SO REAL! Just as I began to type these words the song came on "How Great Is Our God"...Name above all names! Last night at church we had a young man visiting and playing that song and singing it....it was wonderful! YES..................................HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD........!

OCTOBER'S COMING!
THURSDAY....SEPT.23,2010 BEGINNING OF FALL??? SURELY DOESN'T FEEL LIKE IT!
But it is that season according to the calendar now, however in Union, SC it is still in the 90's and hot! Hopefully soon it will be more like the fall I like:)
This has been a really fast week for me. After returning from my Uncle's Memorial in NC Sunday night, my Sister stayed with us since it was so late and left for Atlanta on Monday morning. We stopped in Lexington, NC to pick up some of their "famous lexington style barbeque". I love Union County SC barbeque, however Lexington, NC has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. My Mother grew up in Lexington. So we always picked up some there when visiting and took it back home with us. Don took some of it to his mother at Oakmont and he said she liked it. They have a particular type "barbeque slaw" that you can't get anywhere else and I do like that! Bye the way, she is progressing nicely in her rehab and feeling good.
The Memorial for my Uncle was special for me. They were of the Quaker Faith and the service
was different than any I have ever been to before, but very good. My Aunt (age 91) of course was there. And though she has a touch of memory loss, I think she knew we were all there!
Lots of things going on in the "news" these days...particularly with politics! I watch and pray.
AND I WILL VOTE IN NOVEMBER! WE ALL MUST!
The Following is a quote from ABRAHAM LINCOLN:
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for
themselves.

MEMORIES
What a beautiful Saturday morning in Union, SC. I just came from Curves and ran into two friends of mine from church who are leaving for a trip out West tomorrow.
Another friend left Thursday on vacation out West too. All three of them are in my Sunday School Class and so will be out of church tomorrow. I will not be able to go either because of the death of my Uncle in Highpoint, NC.
My sister is coming from Atlanta this afternoon to pick me up and we will stay with cousins tonight and go to the Service tomorrow. I know he is in heaven will all the rest of the family that has gone on before him, but he will be missed. His Mission on Earth has ended and he is now in a New Place. It will be good to see some of our cousins that we haven't seen for years...(and I do mean years)..! They are from my Father's side of the family...The Vance's. As I child I recall visiting my Grandmother's house on Montlieu Ave in Highpoint right across from a Catholic Church...(for some reason that church intrigued me as a child). All the women wore hats to church on Sundays...but back then even my Methodist Grandmother wore hats when she dressed up.
What wonderful childhood memories I have of those big family get-togethers. My father had 3 older brothers and 2 younger sisters, so everyone and their families would come to "Mother Vance's"...thats what we called her...to eat. I never knew my grandfather, but heard alot about him. He died when my Daddy was almost 5 years old and Mother Vance raised all 6 children by herself and never remarried. She lived to the ripe old age of 97 and I think, hope, I have some of those genes....! She lived in an assisted living apt. building during her latter years. But she had her own private apartment there and always wanted to feed us or give us "something" when we came to visit.
I remember her Big house (before that) and the kitchen with the Big pantry and the GOOD FOOD she cooked for us...and I guess others brought food too. I loved what now we call the "old fashioned" claw foot bath tub she had in her huge bathroom! Also she had a "rotary" phone in the hallway on a special stand and I could always picture her whenever we called her from Charleston standing in that hall. I also remember the next door neighbors who became like Aunts and Uncles to us...! I loved to visit Mother Vance.
We had card tables set up all over the dining room and living room and kitchen when we ate and it is easy for me to remember that since they took pictures..lots of them back then. It was so much fun ! She would always send us a "sack lunch" home when we left to go back to Charleston, SC where we were living at that time.
I am so thankful for my Family today..from back when I was a child and now as a grandmother myself. All my family and extended family. There is nothing like the love of family.
I want to share a poem that our oldest son Van wrote last February on Change. I like it and I think you will. He has quite a talent in this area, and so does his 16 yr old daughter Allison.

CHANGE AND A BEACH CALLED PEACE
Many days I sat on a beach called Peace
Just staring out across the sea.
I know my boat with its broken sails
Could never get me where I need to be.
One day a native with a familiar name
Came to me and said from his heart
You need no boat with broken sails
To get back from where you start.
If you rely on a broken compass
In a search with no direction
You could wind up where you started
Staring into the water at your own reflection.
Take my hand and walk with me
Said the native with a familiar name.
I'll walk you to another beach
Its a beach we all call Change.
It's not an easy walk you see
There's many forests full of many beasts.
But, we must get to the beach called Change
To return to this beach called Peace.
Hand and hand we traveled on and on
You can't imagine the obstacles we overcame.
One day he reached out for my other hand
And said, This is the Beach Called Change!
We all must spend some time here.
It can be difficult on this beach,
But open your heart and eyes
And I'll meet you back on the Beach Called Peace!

Saturday 9-11-10 A Day to remember..........
Today is a special day as we remember those killed in the 9-11 terrorits' attacks on our country. I watched a replay this morning of the "original program" I was watching on NBC in 2001. I was taken immedialtely back to the exact moment as it all unfolded - where I was seated in my house and also the feelings I had as events began to unfold. (I was right back there again)!
I was amazed at how "complacent" I have become over the past nine years regarding what happened to our Nation on that Day! I know it is painful for many survivors to remember, but we as Americans should never forget....and, sadly to say, I feel some of us (even me) have forgotten or "put behind" the terrible images of what did and can happen again here on our own soil! I Pray that God spares us anything else like that on American soil, but....as I mentioned in a previous note...some of us..even Christians..have forgotten the Magnitude of That Day. We need to be reminded and Thank God for His Grace and Mercy Every Day for keeping us safe and know that no matter what happens, Our God is in Control and He will Provide for His Own.
On another matter...today is "Uniquely Union Day" here in Union, SC. People from all over the Carolinas have come here for a "Barbeque Cookoff" contest. I picked up Don at the Nursing Home where he was visisting his mother about noon and she was at the table awaiting her lunch. Louie Hyatt, her (baby) brother, also a patient at Oakmont, was at the table there too. Don's mother looked absolutely "radiant"! She had on a beautiful red colored shirt which made her silver gray hair sparkle and she just "glowed"! She is progressing well in her rehab and they have her up walking with a walker daily now. We are so thankful for that.
Don and I left them and went to the fairgrounds to test some of the many barbeque contestestants that had come to Union to compete. You were give a bracelet to wear for a $5 purchase and allowed to sample some 24 or so contestants "que". You were also given a piece of paper to turn in after eating voting on the one you thought was the best. So I did. And the one I voted as the best came from someone local in Union, not a resturant, or caterer, just someone I didn't know; but the barbarque was excellent. It began to rain just as we began to "taste" and we opened our umbrellas and went on from table to table....finally the rain let up. Then we were really thirsty. There was a band playing and many other vendors selling goods. I think they were having some other things this afternoon, but I got enough barbeque to last me for a long time.....!
Thursday night at Buffalo Baptist Church, we had our first "churchwide" ladies meeting. Brenda Whitmire ,who is over what we call "Women on Mission" ..planned it all and our Sunday School Class, "The Williling Workers" helped her out. The food was delicious and we had a great time of fellowship with the ladies at Buffalo from ages 18-100! Brenda's father was a Baptist Minister and so she has grown up all her life in the church and is really a blessing to the women of Buffalo.
We are blessed to have her.
Speaking of Buffalo Baptist Church, last Sunday morning we really had a moving service. I don't think I have ever sat through a service where we sang the invitation through twice...all verses...JUST AS I AM...! And that is How HE WANTS US...JUST AS WE ARE...WE DON'T HAVE TO "CLEAN UP" FOR HIM....THAT IS THE JOB OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKING THRU US AFTER WE ACCEPT JESUS AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and don't forget to go to church tomorrow!

I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM !
AN "AWESOME" GOD ! There is no other.......NONE! JESUS IS HIS NAME - THE NAME ABOVE "ALL" NAMES.
I AM THAT I AM THAT I AM !

"I AM" We are crying out but we are not seeing the manifestation! The Lord says, That's right, you're not seeing. Put on your rose colored glasses & take another look. The first demonstration, the first manifestation is the inward tearing down of the foundations built by man. The total destruction of the fleshly structures seemingly clothed in the spirit, but in reality, religious & self seeking with motives that are less than pure. These abominations will not stand in the Glory, they will crumble & be burned up by the true light, the light & life of MY (JESUS) presence.......(to be cont.)

ARE YOU READY ?
Hello Everyone! This is a first for me. I haven't been able to "blog" because the library has been closed - so today I am using my cell phone to write & hope it works. It has been a wonderful Labor Day wknd here in Union SC! GOD gave us a touch of fall & I surely do like it. Don's Mother has improved greatly this week & she was able to put weight on her leg for the 1st time since she broke it 6wks ago & with the help of therapists & a walker was able to walk across the room & back! A MIRACLE! Thanks for all the prayers. There is a lady in our church who needs prayer today in light of a really bad report from drs. Her name is Shirley Gregory & husband Gerald. Speaking of Church ! WOW....Buffalo Bapt. Church is beginning to show signs of "Revival" & "Awakening"! The Holy Spirit was moving yesterday morning in a way that only HE could move through the Music, Prayer, & The Preaching of God's Word. Union County has (2) County Wide Meetings coming up at the County Football Stadium. Sept. 12-15 7pm nightly, & a Youth Rally coming in Oct. To Lift Up The Name of JESUS! I am hearing from friends all over the country that GOD (by His Spirit) is moving , Breaking Down "traditions of men" , "racial barriers" , anything that keeps us as Believers in Jesus , from walking together in LOVE, SO THAT ALL MAY BE DRAWN TO JESUS! ITS HARVEST TIME! Are You READY ?

PRAYER MEETING NIGHT AT BUFFALO BAPTIST
Yes..it is Wednesday and its soon going to be time for supper and prayer meeting at Buffalo Baptist Church in Union County, SC. Looking forward to a great evening of food and fellowship!
Talked with Jody Hamrick today (as he cut my hair)...lots of you Union People and Buffalo People know Jody. He is quite a fellow. I really enjoy talking to him when I get my hair cut. He knows all about Buffalo...and Union too. He read my blog and told me He got more out of it than he did the "Grapevine", "Times", and "County News".
Of course he was exagerating. I do like to talk though...sometimes too much...so I really do take what I put in print seriously. I want to give out information and news of local interest in Union and especially in my personal life for all my friends all over the world. Lots of people probably don't even know of Union, SC.
But Union is a "famous" place for various reasons going back to the Civil War! We are a part of what they call the "UPSTATE". I looked that up in the dictionary this morning and found out this is what it means:
...of, relating to, or characteristic of a 'part of a state' "away from" a large city and especially to the North! That describes Union and also Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties of SC.
Someone told me recently they heard that God was going to begin an "awakening"..."revival"..."renewal"..."rebirth"..."regeneration","RESUSCITATION",
"resurgance","REVIVAL","BRING BACK TO LIFE,CONSCIOUSNESS,TO USE", "reinvigorate", "wake up","make fully conscious & aware"....ALL THOSE THINGS BASICALLY MEAN THE SAME "SPIRITUALLY" ! Anyway, I feel like that is what is needed in today's world all over...(Glen Beck thinks so)! And I think we are going to be surprised at "who God uses" to bring about this Revival and Awakening in the Upstate of SC. This same person told me of some things that have happened in her Church recently that were nothing but "supernatural deliverance" ! A MINISTRY OF GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY UNTO HIS PEOPLE...in that church! He wants to do it for all of us...in church and out...(especially those "out"!)
So God is at Work Everywhere...and I believe MORE SO NOW, because the Bible says "that where sin abounds..so much MORE THE Grace OF GOD ABOUNDS" ! God cares for the drug dealers, addicts, those in prison...(Paul spent a lot of time in Prison and wrote a lot of the New Testament)! Just this morning I was reading out of Phillipians..the letter Paul wrote to the church at Phillipi while in prison.....!!! Pray for those in prison..yes, they did wrong things..got caught up in things they shouldn't have and the devil wants to destroy them utterly. However, Jesus said "true religion" was ministering to those in prison (and their families) and the widows, orphans etc. If you have never experienced having a member of your family or close friend incarcerated in prison...you have no idea at all what its like.
Prisons are supposed to be places of "rehabilitation"...........BUT THEY ARE NOT!
The Prison Systems in the USA (many of them) function as if they were on another planet. Drugs are abundant within the "walls" and anything, any type of drug or weapon an inmate wants can be had. There are Good people in the prison system, but the majority are just as lying and deceptive as the prisoners they are supposed to control. And those prisoners that are Christians and got "caught up" in Satan's traps, are the most in need of prayer by those on the outside who know of them. Jesus said it...so why don't we do it? People within the walls have a "system" all their own and if you are not strong or have people praying on a daily basis for you there are a lot of things the enemy uses to completely dash all your hope of anything ever getting better. Ya know...I would like to see a supernatural move of God in the Prisons of America like in the New Testament. As Paul and Silas prayed and others on the outside prayed for them there came an earthquake and the doors were opened and they were "SET FREE"! Even though the people praying for them saw them at the door, they didn't believe their own prayers! SET FREE...OH HOW PEOPLE NEED TO BE SET FREE BY JESUS...WE ARE SET FREE BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS THAT WAS SHED AT CALVARY AND WE MUST NEVER FORGET THAT....! Believe it and walk in it and pray for those who don't know HIM yet...so many..................sooooo many need JESUS !!!
And they will only know Him when they "see us" Walking in Unity and Love as the Body of Christ...together...all of us......
HAVE WE FORGOTTEN GOD !
A friend of mine has a blog and she is the one that got me started doing one. We have known each other for years beginning in the 80s in Charlotte,NC at church. She is a native of Charlotte.
Anyway, I decided today to read her past blogs going back all last year and its been quite fun to catch up on what is going on in her life. There is a quote she posted last November that was taken from a speech Abraham Lincoln gave in 1863 and I felt it was "really relevant" today..not quite a year later. Here it is:
"We have been the receipents of the choicest bounties of heaven,
We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has grown
BUT WE HAVE FORGOTTEN GOD!
We have forgotten the Gracious Hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched
and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all
these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom wisdom and virtue of our own."
ABRAHAM LINCOLN 1863
an excerpt from his "Thanksgiving Proclamation"

DREAMS & VISIONS
Thursday...and I think I hear thunder outside. My day is almost over and I just couldn't get going this morning...don't know why?
Last night we had a wonderful meal at church (spaghetti etc) and then an even better meal from the word regarding prayer...and WE PRAYED! Yes, Buffalo Baptist Church is a "Praying Church". God has graced us with a wonderful new Pastor & Family and we are just getting started !!
Don's mother has been doing much better this week and we are glad of that. He ate lunch with her at the nursing home today and said the food was really good and only cost him 2 dollars! Can't beat that! Family and Friends can buy meal tickets to eat with loved ones in there. Don said he had shrimp and potatoes etc. and it was very good...!
I recently read some news from an old friend of my son's on FB and I am surprised...but not surprised...God is on the move with all those He has called "to the plate" in this hour as I have mentioned before. This young man is having "visions" and has had for sometime and doesn't know what to do with them. He "sees things" and they come to pass !!! Sounds like what the Bible says about this day and hour....young men will see visions and old men will have dreams! He is 42 yrs old and was brought up in the Baptist Church and his grandfather was a Minister. His father was a wonderful friend of ours here in Union in the 70's and was quite successful in business, however something happened and he committed suicide when this son was about 16 and the son found him! After that I think he had alot to deal with and much prayer has gone up for him over the years...(he has a Prayin' Momma) ! When he was a small child, he remembers "preaching" from the pulpit of a Baptist Church, but didn't really know what he was doing! He made a comment on FB that" if he wasn't such a sinner, he believed he would make a great "Evangelical Preacher"! WoW! What a statement. I am not going to mention his name, but if you want someone to pray for sometime...pray for this man. God has His Hand Upon Him Mightily!
Again, today I am listening to the Wonderful World of the Wingertsahns blog music.....(mmna4christ.blogspot.com)....our new Pastors! Its so good and refreshing! Oh, here they go....
Amazing Grace is Playing Again. One of our deacons sang this song as a special last week and it was ANOINTED! (way to go Terry) Terry's wife Rhonda, leads our music and its all good!
Well, it is getting late and I just wanted to put in a note today since I had a moment. God Bless everyone who reads this and I hope God is doing Great Things in your lives today!

SO BE IT !
Its Tuesday Afternoon at the Library in Union,SC.
Schools started back in Union County yesterday and as I drove to the library I saw a school bus a-ways in front of me dropping off children. We need to pray for our children, teachers, all leadership in our local and state system. These are the adults of tomorrow, and goodness knows, we need people of character to hold positions of authority in the future...(we need them now)! They need to be taught that there is a God...how can anyone really deny that! I dare say most people that dont even "say" they believe, somewhere deep inside them is a "wondering" about LIFE!
Don is with his Mother today as he is every day at Oakmont of Union...rehab/nursing home. I talked with him a few minutes ago and he said she was having a good day. He was over at her house watering her flowers...(his&her flowers). Then he will return to have supper with her. Keep her in your prayers...Mattie Sue Kingsmore...and all the family.
I mention in my profile that I like to get on facebook and chat with my grandchildren and I really do. They would rather do that than phone! So I decided that was the thing to do, to communicate with them, and to just let them know how very much I love them "just as they are"....(God does..so surely I should) They are work in progress...and HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK WILL CONTINUE IT TIL THE END! As the Bible says....
"ALL MY CHILDREN (& Grandchildren) shall be taught of the Lord and GREAT shall be their PEACE and UNDISTURBED COMPOSURE! I don't recall where that is exactly in the Bible....but I know it is there because I have spoken that over them for years. Today a new FB Friend of mine who recently was "Born Again, Again", told of leading his 7 year old daughter to the Lord yesterday. WOW...there is nothing more precious than that!
I had a wonderful time with the Lord this morning and just did not want to quit reading my Bible. It was as if everything I read was ALIVE! And I just wanted more, & more, & more, & more! But...I finally broke myself away, did some housework and got ready to come here. On the way out I stopped to pick up our mail which is delivered to a mailbox a mile from our house...and I was just in such a good mood...
BUT...when I got the mail and opened one of the letters I was abruptly shaken out of my peace for (a moment). I called Don and related the information to him and he seemed not to worry about it. So...I just put the letter back in the envelope and began to PRAISE GOD AND LAUGH! The letter indicated some serious things that could be taking place regarding the City of Charlotte,NC and some commercial property we own right downtown Charlotte. Well...the Lord reminded me of how we got that property and how it was in HIS PLAN...and that we had it in our possession for a purpose and NOTHING WAS GOING TO INTERFERE WITH HIS PLANS FOR THAT PROPERTY! I got really excited as I drove and just was so aware of the Presence of the Lord in my car. Peace regarding the whole situation settled in and JOY AROSE....(Now I cannot wait to see how OUR GOD is going to work this out....FOR OUR GOOD! AMEN!
(did you know that Amen means...so be it!) SO....BE....IT...!

A SLOW DAY IN UNION SC
Well friends and family, it is Saturday, AGAIN. I don't know why I entitled this a "slow day" for nothing is slow any more.....!
However, this morning, I lingered at home reading and watching the news before coming to the library. Hope I put something on this blog that will encourage someone today. I heard from another friend last night that was in "turmoil" about what to do with her life....BUT GOD....now suddenly she has gotten clear direction and will be moving also to a new place (out of NC) within a few weeks. She has been in limbo for 3 years she told me and "suddenly" HOPE RETURNED and God is on the move on her behalf! WOW!
I was reading in I Thess. today and yesterday also. Oswald Chambers Devotional was quoting from those passages. Its a letter from Paul to the Church and it was encouraging to me. I am still excited about Buffalo Baptist Church here in Union SC and all of Union. Something is "up" in the air....like...ya know, but you can't explain? Tomorrow is Sunday and I can't wait to see what things God has in store for us as we go to "His House of Worship" to fellowship, learn, love etc.
Its got to be GOOD for HE IS A GOOD GOD AND LOVES US JUST THE WAY WE ARE!
(Do you think God loves our President? Congress? Local & State Leadership) ?
Wednesday night Our Pastor, Michael Wingertsahn, taught on PRAYER! Jesus said, "My house shall be called a house of Prayer! Through the years I think we have let this aspect of our lives slip in some ways. As a child growing up Wednesday Night was always called "Prayer Meeting", but as I grew older the church got away from Prayer and focused on other things. I am glad we are being reminded of the importance of prayer in our personal lives and corporately as a church. I used to "complain" about the status of the govt. etc. locally and nationally.....but....GOD
TELLS US TO PRAY FOR ALL THOSE IN AUTHORITY OVER US...."FIRST" !!! So, if He said to do that, there must be a reason for it even though we may not like how things are going presently and do not see any "hope" (especially in govt. right now) We MUST CONTINUE TO PRAY! It is of utmost importance in this day and hour we live. When I see President Obama on TV now I feel a "compassion" for him that I did not used to feel. God did that to me...changed me...by showing me his teaching in HIS WORD...THE BIBLE! I honestly did not "want" to pray for Our President and Officials, however The Lord has truly given me a heart of compassion that only could come from Him Supernaturally. I knew what the Word of God said....but just couldn't quite do it....but by His Grace and Mercy I can. So ask God to give you a "heart of compassion" for our President no matter what you hear or see or experience. Its the Word of God To Us as Believers TO PRAY! I am glad that our church hands out a list of prayer requests every Wednesday Night for those members, community, family members, who or what ever needs prayer and then on top of that asks for any more requests during the Wed. nite service. We are a "House of Prayer"....YES and AMEN !

POEM - PURPOSE by Russell Kelfer
You are who you are for a reason.
You're part of an intricate plan.
You're a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God's special woman or man.
You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You're "just" what he wanted to make.
The parents you had were the ones he chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were customed-designed with God's plan in mind,
And they bear the Master's seal.
No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into his likeness you'd grow.
You are who you are for a reason,
You've been formed by the Master's rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God !!!
The above came out of the book written by Rick Warren - PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE.
If you haven't read it you need to. It will change your perspective considerably for the good.

JOY IN THE MIDST OF TRANSITION !
Well, Hello everyone!
Its been a week again since I have written on my blog. Lots of things have happened to My Natural Family and My Spiritual Family here in Union, SC and in other places. Our God is moving faster than I have ever seen Him move before to "get people in position" both in the natural and spiritual for this last great Act of Grace that HE is performing through HIS People during this last hour.
I checked my email a minute ago...had 76 in my inbox so I figured I had better see what was up. I check it on my cell when I can't get here to the library, but somehow it doesn't all get thru to my cell???? I got a note from a friend in Charlotte commenting on the fact that today was 8-9-10 ! And then another comment came from someone else that tonight it will be 8-9-10-11-12-13-14-15-16 etc....time is moving on...coincidence...I think not. Our God has it ALL PLANNED OUT....We just have to "get in place" THE RIGHT POSITION! I can name 4 people I am friends with on FB that have "suddenly" had 2 weeks to move out of their present living place and move to another for various reasons and it seemed impossible in the natural realm for them to do this..."but they are not doing this alone"...its the Hand of God moving them and so all is falling into place. Its Amazing what I am hearing and experiencing myself TODAY! For we are only promised....Today. So make the best of it. I intend to.
Well..for information...Don's mother has been moved from the hospital to the nursing/rehab (Oakmont) in Union as of last Tuesday. She is resting comfortably and they are beginning to do what therapy they can at this point. She is peaceful, but weak and tires very easily. She has a cast on her left leg from thigh to ankle, so that is quite cumbersome for her when she has to navigate out of her bed, and that is only when someone helps her to a wheelchair. She was doing so well after her treatments about 7 weeks ago for the Myasthenia Gravis they discovered she had and we were so amazed at the energy that returned to her body and her ability to get around (walk) so well. Then this accident...broken leg! We don't understand why these things happen, but we must look to God for help and courage during these times. He is our TRUE SOURCE OF JOY...NEHEMIAH 8:10...! Don is with her today as he has been every day since his brother left. She is in no pain and that is wonderful!
Louie Hyatt...Don's mother's only living brother fell a couple weeks before she did and broke his hip and he is in the same nursing home as she is here in Union. In our church the very same week that Don's mother fell...Ruth Lawson & Braddie Rice..long time Buffalo Baptist Members fell and broke a bone. They are all about the same age as Don's mother too. Again we don't understand all of this...but God does and he will take care of all concerned as we obey Him and Pray for them.
Our New Pastors - Michael & Michelle Wingertsahn and their children, Nathan & Anna-Marie are now "almost" settled in the Church Parsonage and Michael preached his first sermon as Pastor at Buffalo Sunday Morning August 8, 2010. There was a large crowd in attendance and it was a great service! Then Sunday night Pastor Michael gave his "testimony" of how he was saved and how he got to Buffalo. It was inspiring to hear him and see what a Love he has for the Lord and for All People.
At Buffalo we are soon going to be electing new Deacons (3), and some people are resigning positions they had in the church for several years so we need prayer for God's Guidance in all these matters. I am quite sure Our God has it all planned out, we just have to "hear from him" and be obedient to His Voice.
I must stop right now and say what is on my mind...I CAN ONLY IMAGINE..the song written by a man after his father went to heaven and became a # l song is playing LOUDLY IN STEREO IN MY EARS RIGHT NOW....(thanks to Michelle's blog)...OH..what Heavenly Music I am hearing. Imagine...what Heaven will be like. It seems closer and closer to me day by day. I do believe we are in the last days and Jesus will soon return to take us back with Him to rule and reign forever!
I CAN ONLY IMAGINE! I'M FORGIVEN BECAUSE HE WAS FORSAKEN, I'M ACCEPTED BECAUSE HE WAS CONDEMNED! AMAZING LOVE...THAT IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT..THE LOVE OF JESUS AND THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR US...ALL OF US....LET THE REDEEMED OF THE LORD SAY SO!!
Well, I had better stop...I could go on and on about MY JESUS and what he did for me and is continuing to do!
Til next time....Carol

THE JOSHUA GENERATION
Hello people...what a wonderful day to be alive! Why? Because HE LIVES!
I had a bit of a problem getting into my blog to write today. I forgot my password.
Well...that is not unusual...I have different passwords for different accounts on the internet and sometimes forget which is which! (ha-ha) Anyway, I am in now. I also was put on a waiting list again when I got here to use a computer. I went into the geneology section and was browsing a book and looking for some "family names" and did not really find anything of substance. Then, right away they called my name to go to the computer stations. So...here I am. It is a hazy day in Union SC today and not at all hot like it has been. But for some reason it is a bit "hot" here in the library. I decided I had better do this before checking my email in case I have to get off in one hour. Hopefully I wont have to. Only one time did that happen...(2 wks ago)...and I didn't get to write on my blog.
We had a great weekend....especially Sunday. Our interim Pastor at Buffalo Baptist preached his last sermon Sunday morning, August 1st. Pastor Gideon Long has been at Buffalo for 17 months and though we are really going to miss him, we are excited about our New Pastor and Family who arrived in town last night. They should be about to begin moving into the church parsonage right now. I understand their moving van was to leave Thomaston, GA early this morning.
So.... ITS A NEW TIME AND A NEW SEASON FOR BUFFALO BAPTIST CHURCH in Union County South Carolina! We have said goodbye to one special man, and are welcoming a whole New Young Family to Buffalo Baptist Church and the community. We have an awesome group of young people at Buffalo...some 30 of them went to Conway, SC a few weeks ago to minister to the people in a certain community there and what Great Things God Did Through Them. What we have is a "JOSHUA GENERATION" I believe at Buffalo. Pastor Gideon preached alot before he left about the time when He would leave and we would have a new Pastor/Leader. He compared it to Moses and Joshua in the Old Testament. Preacher Gideon really prepared us for this "transition" in so many ways.....! That is one reason I am so excited about what is going on in our whole community of Union. What God is doing in Buffalo, I believe he will do all over Union County! And quite possibly this "JOSHUA GENERATION" (that the enemy hates)...will go forth and do the works of Jesus...bringing many into the Kingdom of God in this critical hour we live in now. That is certainly what we need here!
We had the Sheriff of Union County speak at our church some weeks ago and told of the crime, gangs in the youth, drugs etc. etc. And..he said the only real answer to the problem was the Church! And I know that to be so true. I will keep you posted as to what is going on in the "spiritual" community as it unfolds in the days to come. I can hardly wait!
Oh..I must relate this, it just popped in my mind. One of the last sermons Pastor Gideon Long preached at Buffalo was entitled: ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GET READY...GO!!
Sooooooooooooooooooooo HERE WE GO...............!!
AND A GREAT BIG WELCOME TO PASTOR MICHAEL, MICHELLE, NATHAN, & ANNA-MARIE WINGERTSAHN......WE LOVE YOU ALREADY!

GOD'S AMAZING GRACE & TIMING
Today I am just amazed at the things MY LORD is doing! Though things in the natural world (USA)seem on an utterly downward spiral, I have such excitement inside me of what MY GOD is about to do. HE IS THE ONE IN CHARGE....(not Obama) WOW!
I just wish I could "tell everyone" how I feel about Our Lord today. It just gets better and better. Though Don's mother had a terrible fall last Saturday and broke her leg, she has come through it like a trooper. She will be in the hospital a few more days and then be transferred to a place for rehab. Don's brother Dan arrived from Myrtle Beach Thursday, so Don isn't having to go to Spartanburg as much right now.
I have been praying alot lately for certain things...and wouldn't you know it...GOD HAS ANSWERED MY PRAYERS! IN HIS WAY AND IN HIS TIMING...BUT HE IS NEVER LATE...RIGHT ON TIME. We just get impatient and try to "do it all ourselves" when we think HE is not doing anything. HE IS ALWAYS WITH US...ALWAYS IN EVERYTHING...EVERY, LITTLE,THING...! All that's required is complete trust and faith in HIM! Listening to HIS VOICE moment by moment....so simple, yet "religion" has made it so hard! I TRULY FEEL LIKE A CHILD AGAIN (I am 64) ! And that is how he wants us to come to HIM...as a little child comes to his parents fully believing that they will give them what they need...AT THE RIGHT TIME!
Nothing has changed in our "natural circumstances" and that doesn't really matter. What matters and gives us TRUE JOY is our relationship with Jesus....HIM ALONE!
THAT'S THE JOY UNSPEAKABLE....FULL OF GLORY...even here in little ol Union,SC...with an unemployment rate of 22%...OH HOW GOD IS WAITING TO SHOW HIMSELF STRONG ON OUR BEHALF IN THIS TOWN....SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON !!! Have a wonderful day and go to church on Sunday...it will be good for you. Don & Carol

BORN AGAIN AGAIN !
That is the phrase that came to me yesterday after a wonderful time in The Word with God and communicating with HIM! Actually, it was Monday that something "ignited" in my spirit while reading my daily devotional from MY UTMOST FOR HIS HIGHEST, Oswald Chambers. He was talking about our NEW HERITAGE IN JESUS CHRIST BECAUSE OF REDEMPTION! I have heard this all my life since I got saved at 10 years of age in Charleston, SC - Ashley River Baptist Church and was Baptised there. I can still vividly remember that day and the night I was Baptised. I was only 10, but it was something I have never forgotten. Over the years I attended church all the time and my life growing up consisted of Sunday Mornings, Sunday Evenings, Wednesday Evengings,BTU,GAs,YOUTH CHOIR,SWORD DRILLS,CHURCH CAMPS, ETC. in the 50's & 60"s. I was also so involved with school that I never had time to get into trouble and I thank God for my Dear parents who are with Jesus now - for giving me the upbringing they did. I was a cheerleaderin highschool in Atlanta for 5 years and I feel like I am somewhat of a cheerleader for Jesus now!
I strayed from the Lord somewhat when I went off to college even though it was a Baptist College...Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. That is where I met Don and we got married, moved to Union, had three children in Union and got involved in Buffalo Baptist Church where Don grew up...(a mill village church)! Now there is no more mill, but THE CHURCH STILL STANDS! Alan...our middle son, accepted
Jesus as his Saviour at Buffalo when he was 10 and was very serious about it. Over the years our others followed suit in other churches and we were a fixture in the church in Charlotte we attended. It was wonderful, but for me....something was missing and I didn't know I was even missing it until Monday..July 24th, 2010! We started a business and it grew rapidly and we gave abundantly and we continued to grow in the Lord and in Business and had great success financially, however there came a time when we let the spiritual aspect of our lives slide a bit and thus.......lots of things happened which eventually led us back to Union, SC in God's perfect timing and His Plan though I didn't think so at first. Now things are becoming clearer and clearer to me spiritually why things happened the way they did.
I wont go into that because that is the PAST! HALLELUIA! ALL THINGS ARE NEW!
Now to being Born Again Again....I mentioned in one of my previous blogs that I was studying geneology and family history....(natural family). But suddenly....and I do mean suddenly - ithout any forewarning I was reading about "redemption" and what Jesus did for us on the cross...things I had head knowledge of and believed by faith, but for some reason I felt like I was not where I needed to be in the area of having a hunger for the LOST! I had been asking the Lord about this recently and in years past. But Monday morning something happened to me just by reading the Bible and I had a "RHEMA" WORD ABOUT REDEMPTION AND THE CROSS.......ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS! I saw we have a "new Heritage" in him. The old "fleshly" nature is still there, but our Spirits are white as snow and pure just as if we had never sinned.
Now this is nothing new to Christian Terminology...but for me it became a LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!
A funny thing happened to me last Friday while in the library...I only got to use the computer for l hour. So that is why I didn't "blog". I then went to the geneology computers and began to look things up about my natural family and you know, where in the past I had been able to find lots of information and pull it up....I could not find one....not ONE NATURAL Ancestor in that computer Friday!!! Well...that puzzled me until the "Rhema" I received on Monday. I believe the Lord was preparing me for Monday's revelation to me. It emcompasses so much I feel that I have only begun to understand what HE is showing me about this. I think of the man in the bible who asked Jesus if he must "enter again into his mothers womb" to be born again!? Of course that is not what Jesus was saying.
My past is the past....my sins are ALL washed away and I have a NEW HERITAGE IN JESUS! He has given me the Holy Spirit as my comforter to work through me and Jesus himself is my "Spiritual Brother" and HE IS EVER INTERCEDING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER FOR ME !! JESUS IS MY HERITAGE....THE FATHER, SON, HOLY GHOST !
WOW ! What an amazing thought!
HIS GRACE IS EVERLASTING AND WHERE SIN ABOUNDS , GREAT GRACE ABOUNDS !
HIS UNMERITED FAVOR! AND WE ALL HAVE ACCESS TO THAT THROUGH THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST AND HIS REDEMPTION FOR US.

JULY 24TH, 2010 SATURDAY - TODAY
This saturday started out like most Saturdays and it was a day for Don to take his mother to shop early (8am) before it got hot. I just stayed at home in the cool air and read. I got a phone call about noon or so and it was Don. He was at the Hospital in Union with his Mother. She had felt ill while they were out shopping, and so they went home. When they got to her house she was changing clothes and Don was watering her flowers (HIS actually-HE planted them)........
She had somehow fallen while changing clothes and hit her head and had her feet and legs crumpled underneath her and couldnt move. He got a neighbor to help him lift her up on the bed and then the ambulance was there. She was in excruciating pain and bleeding profusely from her head. Bear in mind she is 89! The took x-rays and CT scans here in Union and then transported her to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. As it turned out she had broken her leg between her "artificial knee" and "artificial hip". A very complicated break. They did surgery on her Sunday morning at 10 am and the surgeon said everything went perfect. She actually looked alot better after surgery than before she went in. They are keeping her pain at bay and it is going to be a slow recovery, especially since she also has Myasthenia Gravis which is a muscle disease that they just discovered about 2 months ago. At her age they don't know exactly how the "normal" treatments for this disease are going to affect her. Today...three days post op, they have decided to do "plasmapherisis" on her AGAIN. Just 6 weeks ago she had it done and was in the hospital for 2 weeks and it helped her a great deal. So......at 3:30 I talked to Don and they had her sitting up in a chair and had been preparing her for the treatment. It usually takes about 2hours or more for one treatment and they can only do them as she is able.
So thank you all who I have advised on facebook for your prayers and those of you who will read this blog. She has a long recovery ahead of her according to the surgeon and we covet your prayers on her behalf and ours too. She definitely will have to go into a nursing home straight from the hospital and receive therapy etc. So....CHANGE....for all the family. Myles Monroe has a book published in 2009 about "Change" and I have just begun to read it. Sooooooo!
Thank you all for your prayers and will keep you posted as I can.

SIGHTS & SOUNDS
Hello everyone! Its been a week since I have "blogged" and it only seems like a day. Lots has happened since then. That was last Wednesday July 21st, 2010. I had not planned to blog today either, but somehow I just felt impressed to get to the library and write! As I drove into town I came to the main intersection before entering main street and right in front of me turned two (2) limosines. This was ususual for me because some weeks ago at the very exact spot one (1) limosine turned right at the same spot in front of me and went on in to Union...for what I know not. SIGHTS! Was there some "important" official in the cars? Or maybe they were family cars returning from a funeral of someone in Union who had passed away. I honestly don't know, however it really caught my attention when I saw them today. They were "New" ones...not old. They were jet black and it seemed to me there was some importance in my seeing them. I just turned right at the hospital to come to the library and watched them as they went on down toward main street in Union.....wondering?
Then I got to the library and the parking lot was full of cars and I thought I might have to wait again on a computer, however that proved not to be so. So here I am. As I walked into the library I began to hear "SOUNDS"....."sounds of the City of Union at 5pm". Church bells were ringing out the time...I heard what sounded like an ice cream truck somewhere down the street and then I heard a car alarm going off....all in the space of about a minute! SOUNDS! So what is this telling me today. Life is always going on around us whether we realize it or not. Even in our small town of Union, SC. There is always something going on. I happened to have my radio station on a Charlotte NC station as I drove in and realize things are going on as usual there.
As I am writing, I am listening to beautiful worship music....Amazing Love...Amazing Grace...I've been SET FREE! (thanks to my new pastor's wife Michelle and her blog on web). By the way...they will be here and preaching on August 8th. Can't Wait. Watch for the good things that God is going to do in Union in the future....and more importantly at Buffalo Baptist Church where we are members.
I sense another topic coming on and I need to do another "title" so that is all for "sights and sounds" in Union Today.

HEALTH & WELLNESS WEDNESDAY
Here I am again at 3:30 doing my thing in the library. Had to wait again today. This is a popular place everyday! Its really hot in Union, about 95 degrees. Supposed to get hotter tomorrow. So thankful for airconditioning!
This morning I was reading about being healthy and staying well and the older I get I realize that this is a very important part of my life. I only wish I had paid attention to things like this when I was younger. However its never too late to start.
There are many ways that people will tell you are the way to stay healthy: eating nutritiously,
exercise, get the proper amount of sleep, drinking lots of water, etc. But what I read this morning just made some points that maybe we need to listen to a bit closer.
For example, being able to give and receive love is very important. A heart that loves and spreads Joy builds a stronger immune system. Did you know that? And your own emotional and spiritual growth depend on loving yourself and others.
Having an "Attitude of Gratitude" will also bring you more happiness, health, and calm. Count your blessings! Focus on the Positive things in your life, not the things that you can do nothing about! Stressing over things you cannot change will make you "age faster". It also puts a burden on your immune system. Free yourself from worry and accept what you cannot change and move on. (ie-Give it to God)
I think the most important thing in staying healthy is developing a personal relationship with God. This will cultivate your own well-being and happiness - so "nourish your spirit" ! Studies have shown that people who "nuture their spiritual-selves daily" get benefits such as lower blood pressure, fewer strokes, and less emotional turmoil. Those with strong spiritual ties lose weight more easily, handle crises better, and have a stronger social life.
All of the above things can be backed up with scriptures throughout the Bible. Proverbs has a lot to say. Also Nehemiah 8:10 says, "The Joy of The Lord Is Your Strength" ! Proverbs 17:22 says, "A Merry Heart Doeth Good Like a Medicine" ! So I determine to not worry - be happy - love myself and others, and to be grateful to God for all the Good Things that are happening in my life today.
Well, guess that is something I wanted to put in print for myself and others who may read this blog. I think I am going to have a great time writing as the Lord leads me and keeping people informed about our lives here in Union, SC.
Yesterday, Don took his Mother to the neurologist in Spartanburg. She has a disease called Myasthenia Gravis...very rare at her age (89). It causes her muscles to not function properly and has something to do with her immune system too. The doctors really don't know how certain treatments will affect her because of her age....so please say a prayer for her and our whole family as we help her through this time.
She is a Great Lady and has done much in her lifetime to benefit not only her family but others in the community as well. She has always been one to help others and not require help for herself, so this is a hard time for her. Thanks for your prayers.
Have a great week and weekend everyone in Union and wherever you are! I may not write again this week.....but then I may. Bye for now.

It's Monday and I Finally Got Online !
It is about 3:30pm on Monday the 19th of July and I am just now getting on a computer in the library. I had to wait a bit for one to come open. While waiting I went to the geneology section of the library and found a book with a history of my maiden name...Vance....in it. I already have a book written in 1982 about the Vance's of Piedmont NC, but love looking further. I found that the Vance family name was one of the very first families of settlers in Union, SC back in the 1750's when the Indians were here. That's probably why my boys found arrowheads etc. back in the 70's as they roamed our property on the Tyger River. The Indians usually lived near water so I imagine they lived right where we are living now. I also know from some further studies that there were Indian Raids back during that early era and settlers had to "fortify" themselves from being killed! It is also quite a co-incidence that we live in the Cross Keys Area of Union County and I went to Cross Keys High School in Atlanta, GA and they were called the Indians?! Ya Know....that is really interesting isn't it?
Yesterday we had a surprise at church. Pastor Gideon Long had invited his Grandson to preach.
He was young and a student at Seminary, but he could really preach! We also found out that our New Pastor and His Family will be here and preaching by August 8th. At Buffalo Bapt. we have been without a full-time pastor for over a year and a half and we are so glad that Michael and Michelle Wingertsahn and Nathan and Anna-Marie are coming to be with us as Pastors. They are moving here from Thomaston, GA. They grew up near Atlanta in Lilburn, GA and then went to Valdosta State University where they both got saved and they married and then Michael went to Seminary. They have been Pastoring for 3 years in Thomaston, GA and we are so greatful they have accepted the call to Pastor in Buffalo, SC. I know their church in Thomaston will miss them, but God has great things for them to do in our community and we can't wait !!
I am still trying to get used to this "blogging" thing.....but I am getting the hang of it slowly. I taught myself years ago how to use the computer...so I just start typing and see where it takes me. I heard today from a dear friend in Atlanta who has been very influential in my life over the years and was so glad to hear from her....She is a Great Encourager! And a very Godly Woman.
There are alot of things I could say, I suppose, however I need to do some other things today and my time is limited. I will be so glad when I get a New Computer At Home with Satellite Service......I have a lot of writing to do and the Lord is leading me in a direction he told me he would years ago....its just timing...and HIS TIMING IS ALWAYS PERFE CT !
Have a great week everyone!

ITS FRIDAY AFTERNOON AT THE LIBRARY!
Hello everyone....(or whoever may read this) I am in the Union County SC Carnegie Library (best small library in the USA 2009) doing some computer work and thot I would just say a few things about Union. Union is a great place to live and raise your children. Although we presently have one of the highest unemployment rates in the country....there are many job possibilities close by and after living in Charlotte,NC for so many years...a simple 30 min. drive to Spartanburg is nothing.
I live 10 minutes west of the downtown area in the Cross Keys Area and can leave my house and be anywhere in Union within less than 15 minutes. I love it! Charlotte was a great place to live, but I sure don't miss the traffic. In Union....there is NEVER a traffic jam ! Oh my...what a relief....
Two of my grandaughters are at the beach this week. Casey is at Myrtle Beach with friends and Nikki is in Daytona with friends. Hope they are having a good time. Only way I know this is because I keep up with them on facebook. Facebook is really a wonderful networking site I think. You just have to know what you are doing and where you are posting things and also be aware that "public posts" on FB can bring unpleasant results at times. This I have experienced, however it is not stopping me from using the network. I have found so many old friends this way and hope I continue to. People you KNEW were your "friends" way back still are and some aren't. And then there are those who you didn't really "travel in the same circle with", but you find now that you have much in common as the years have passed. Isn't technology exciting!
Don has been busy helping his Mother (89) today. Yesterday we had a great day at home...just the two of us...no computers...no people...just us and doing things mostly inside the house since it was so HOT outside.
Tomorrow is Saturday already....and then Church on Sunday. We love our little Baptist Church in Buffalo and are quite excited that we are getting a new Pastor and his Family in August sometime. Pastor Gideon Long has been filling in for a year and a half or so and doing a great job...but he is retired from the ministry and needs his time off now! Our pulpit committee searched diligently for the Pastor that God would have at this time and very hour and since meeting them I am so sure that Our God knows just exactly what he is doing in bringing this couple and their children here to Union County, SC. I already feel a "kindred" spirit with them. Look for great things to happen at Buffalo and also all over Union County in the days, weeks, months, years to come. There are a lot of PRAYING PEOPLE here and have been for a lot of years....praying in Unity for the City and County! I am glad God has allowed us to be a part of what HE is doing in Union at this time. UNITY - THAT IS WHY WE ARE CALLED UNION!
